We believe food is an integral part of culture. And we also believe that meal time is a time to relax and enjoy the company of one’s family and friends. It is our sincerest hope that by the time you leave our restaurant, you will consider us family as well.
Tamarind Thai opened in July of 2004, a collaboration between Vatcharin (Vatch) Bhumichitr, world-renowned chef and author, and his friend of 30 years, Day Longsomboon, head chef, both of whom are native Thai. The traditional recipes and cooking techniques employed in the preparation of your meal have been passed down through several generations in their families, some as far back as the 1930’s. Goong Siam, Tamarind Duck, Spicy Beef with Eggplant and Duck Green Curry are just a few of the dishes you will not find in any other Thai restaurant in Miami.
At Tamarind Thai, food is prepared in a manner that respects the health and well-being of our customers. Therefore, you will never be “over-served” in a wasteful manner at Tamarind Thai. Your food will be delectable and fresh and served in just the right portion. In addition, we have carefully selected a list of fine wine to act as the perfect complement to the spicy nature of Thai food.
We are honoured to welcome you to Tamarind Thai Restaurant and hope you enjoy our homemade gourmet cuisine. It is the food of the Thai people, presented with passion and authority.
Vatcharin Bhumichitr, is the author of numerous bestselling Thai cookbooks. Vatch’s cookbook, “Thai Kitchen,” which features actual dishes from our menu is also available at the restaurant.
